Nathan Loyd is a registered patent attorney and focuses his practice on preparing and prosecuting patent applications covering innovative computer systems and wireless communication systems, as well as mechanical inventions. Prior to joining Brient IP Law, Mr. Loyd worked as an associate at Finnegan in Atlanta.

Mr. Loyd’s practice includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications, and advising clients in regard to their intellectual property portfolios. While Mr. Loyd’s current practice focuses largely on obtaining patent protection for complex computer systems, computer networking and data management techniques, he also has broad experience in obtaining patents for artificial intelligence and machine learning innovations, cloud computing, logistics management, electric vehicle technology, blockchain architectures and mechanical devices.

Mr. Loyd was formerly a Flight Commander and an A-10 Fighter Jet Test Engineer for the U.S. Air Force and is currently a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserves where he frequently advises high-level government officials as a nuclear proliferation analyst.

Mr. Loyd received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center, an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology, an M.A. in Theology and Bioethics from Holy Apostles College and Seminary, and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Loyd also has an active pro bono practice, helping to obtain a federal court injunction protecting religious liberty in 2022, as well as serving as the president of the board of directors for an international charity with a $5 million annual budget.

Mr. Loyd is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to practice law in Georgia.
