Jaci Shanks

Jaci Shanks focuses her practice on domestic and international trademark counseling, brand management, multi-jurisdictional dispute management, enforcement, and domain name disputes. She assists clients in assessing the availability of trademarks for use and registration, developing and implementing complex trademark protection strategies, and monitoring and enforcing trademark rights in the United States and abroad. Mrs. Shanks counsels, coordinates and oversees numerous international contentious proceedings.

Mrs. Shanks earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law and received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia. During law school, she was the Managing Editor of the Journal of Entertainment & Technology Law, President and co-Founder of the Vanderbilt Student Health & Wellness Association, and an intern at the Tennessee Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.

Mrs. Shanks was recognized in 2018 as a Georgia “Rising Star” for Intellectual Property by Super Lawyers magazine. In 2015, she received the prestigious Burton Award, which recognizes excellence in legal writing, for an article published in Landslide. Before joining Brient IP, Mrs. Shanks served as counsel in the trademark group of Kilpatrick, Townsend & Stockton.
